GGLO 20th Anniversary Party- September 29, 2006

My good friend Adrian plays a mean trombone, and is 1/4 of the Prima Donna Horns, with whom I play in Soul Provider. His wife Tina works for GGLO, one of the leading Architecture firms in Seattle. She recommended us to her boss, who hired us to play at their 20th Anniversary Party this past Friday at the Roof Park on top of Rainier Square. Luckily the beautiful weather we’ve been having held, and it was the perfect evening for an outdoor gig.

We set up under the tent in the roof-top garden, and played for a couple hundred GGLO employees past and present and their clients, family and friends. They were a great crowd, and the party was gorgeous. The Cobb Building was right across the street and beautifully lit. GGLO recently completed their renovation of this historic building, which is now new luxury apartments.

Adrian sat in with us during the last couple sets, which is always fun. He and I have been playing together for years now, and know eachother pretty well. It’s fun to come up with harmony parts on the fly and play off of one another.

And Josh continues to amaze me. It’s so much fun to play with him. He has brought a great new energy and enthusiasm to the band, and raised the bar for us all musically. On a side note, Josh has also agreed to become the primary keyboard player for one of my other bands, Water Babies.

Mark Wainwright, Head of Marketing at GGLO, sent me this email the day after the event: “Thanks, Jason. It was a great night and you guys did an awesome job. I’m certain our paths will cross again.” Jeff Foster, one of the Principals, had this to say: “You guys were perfect. We have received many comments about what a great evening it was, including your music.”

Thanks to Mark, Tina, Jeff Foster and the whole crew at GGLO for having us…I hope we’ll get to play for you again!
